If you follow my Saturday morning show on DreamFm, then you’ll know I played KennyToolz’ song “See My Baby” a lot. It was a regular on my #TweetRequest show as many wanted to hear the song over and over.
Produced by Kuk beat, “See My baby” saw massive airplay on Dreamfm, Enugu and many other radio stations in the south east. Now out with a new song, Contain, we profile this South East rising star, KennyToolz
Born Udeh Kenneth Okezie on 13th September, 1995, kennyToolz hails from Ezeagu LGA in Enugu State. He is the 6th in the family of 8 children (3 female & 5 males). He attended Government Technical College Enugu where he studied Agricultural Science & Mechanization
Music Background: KennyToolz started singing at his Church choir at age 15, after his pastor’s wife told him he had a good voice. He then developed a passion for Music and subsequently left Football.
He started writing his own songs and due to lack of funds, recorded them using his phone. He would then met an artist called Mr. Pillar who gave him a chance to feature in one of his songs which was KennyToolz’ first studio experience. According to him “everyone loved his first studio work”.
With this, he went into studio production in 2013. In 2015, he signed his first Record deal and released his first official single “See My Baby” under Voix records.
Inspiration: According to kennyToolz, one of his main inspirations is Good Music. “Listening to other people's hit songs always triggers me to do mine. Secondly I am inspired by African Ladies that’s why I sing mostly love song. Finally, I am inspired by “The street”. I am from the street and I will always talk about It”.
Music: So far, kennytoolz has two official songs. The popular “See My Baby” which was produced my Kuk Beat and “Contain” which was produced by Vee and Dr. Both can be downloaded on several sites
