About Me

Gloria Orji-Emodi is one of the most-prominent voices in the Nigerian media space.
Currently working as a Media and Public Relations consultant for several organizations, her career in the media industry spans over 17 years having worked in four media houses in various managerial capacities, developed successful media campaigns/strategies for prominent organizations and individuals, partnered with several local and international organizations to bring social justice and reform. Gloria has trained several media practitioners some of whom are in managerial positions in many broadcast stations in Nigeria and beyond.

Known popularly as FABULOSGLORIA, she is also identified by other alias such as #5FootGiant and #MediaMajesty

FabulosGloria is an internationally trained broadcaster/journalist haven mastered the art of communication. She has been trained by (and worked with) the Financial Times London, The BBC, Radio Netherlands (RNTC), InterNews agency, Service Accord and Voice Initiative (SAVI) Nigeria, Action-Aid Nigeria and so many other top media organisations. She has worked in the capacity of an investigative journalist, local and international business correspondent and analyst, political correspondent and analyst having reported live in several state and national elections since 2011.

As a political news reporter and analysis for more than 17 years, Gloria has worked as a media/PR campaign strategist for several political aspirants and candidates. Three of whom had gone on to win their contested positions. Her incredible knack for research, investigation and analysis has seen her create winning campaign strategies for several political candidates. She is a successful Digital Marketing guru handling the social media platforms of many corporations, brands, politicians and individuals.

She is a media content developer and producer, an exceptional compare/MC, brand influencer, voice-over artist, actress, gifted sound engineer, well-known philanthropist who has empowered many through her #GiveBackProject initiative, advocate and humanitariana

After turning 40 in January, 2023, she premiered her Youtube Show/podcast #Becoming40 inspired by her desire to chronicle her experiences in this new decade. 

FabulosGloria is probably best known for her sonorous and well tenured/pitched voice which many have said is the best in the country. She is extremely articulate and eloquent with an ability to drive home every message in her presentations on or away from the microphone. 

Her charming and highly amiable personality on and off air has endeared her to many. 

Early Life/Education

Born Gloria Nnenna Orji on January 12th 1983 in Abiriba, Ohafia local government area of Abia State, FabulosGloria is the first of two daughters born to Kalu and Nnenna Orji.

From there she attended Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Kaduna state where she gained a second class upper degree in Biochemistry.

Career/Work Experience

FabulosGloria had her first taste of media exposure at the age of 8 when she featured in then prominent children’s program called “Junior Opinion” on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Enugu. She was immediately known as the shining star on the show following her eloquence, articulacy and exceptional communication skills. She wowed audiences with her intonation and featured on the show till she was 12 years old.

Her next encounter with the media came after attending a Christmas Party at the now defunct Cosmo fm in Enugu in 2004 where she attracted the attention of the head of Station Jika Attoh who immediately noticed her unique voice. She was immediately offered employment in the radio station though not haven read mass communication or a related course in the University. She was only armed with a good voice, a ready-to-learn spirit, humility and dedication to work.

While working at CosmoFm, she underwent a financial reporting training by the Financial Times London in association with the BBC that lasted 18months. This certified her as a financial reporter. She was also trained by the BBC on health reporting especially on HIV/AIDS awareness/reporting as well as adolescent reproductive health. 

While in Cosmo fm, she was stationed in the news room as a news anchor and reporter while also presenting other entertainment programs like “This Weekend”, “OffCampus” and the friend finders program “Where Are You”

In 2007, she left Cosmo Fm to start up her media firm, Sapphire Advertising, which at the time was one of the few that existed. Her firm till date has worked with both South Eastern brands like Henrich Comouter, Nike Lake Hotel, Golden Toast and many others as well as national brands like GoTv, ACTv, DiamondBank, Etisalat, Pandora Jewelries etc

 While working on her own, she took up a contract with Broadcasting Corporation of Abia State BCA radio in 2008 in which for a year, she handled two of the stations weekend programs.

In 2009, she joined the Daar Communications pioneer team to power-up in Enugu. She worked in Raypower/AIT as the head of programs till 2012 when she joined DreamFm Enugu as the Head of the News department.

In April 2016, she travelled for a self-sponsored training with the Radio Netherlands Training Center majoring in Investigative Journalism.

In 2018, Gloria Orji-Emodi took a leap and transitioned to television via an online TV station called Roots Tv Nigeria. She was a pioneer staff of the station anchoring its major programs, news reports and interviews. In less than six months in Abuja, she became a household name having interviewed some of the most powerful and prominent people in government/politics and Nigeria as a whole.

In February 2020, Gloria Orji-Emodi took another leap by opting out of her lucrative contract with Roots Tv to focus on her craft as a media consultant and trainer as well as Advertising, PR and media marketing. Even with the corona virus which gravely affected the whole world, she flourished helping organizations re-strategize, rebrand and promote their brands during the lockdowns and beyond.

Achievements

In 2010, FabulosGloria wrote, directed and produced a critically acclaimed international award winning radio drama called “Just My Luck”

The radio drama was created to raise awareness on the negative effect of torture while educating stakeholders (especially security agencies) on better means of interrogation.


In 2012, she joined Olisa Adibua (Beatfm) and Spaceman (Rhythm Port Harcourt) as a judge in the Glo Naija Sings (Eastern Zone)


In 2014, The #GiveBackProject was born. This initiative was a means for the OAP to give back to the society. She started by giving out N50,000 on air quarterly to her listeners. The audience were meant to send her a business plan/proposal touting a viable business the money could start up.
Her beneficiaries included Ifeanyi Nwodo, who won the first edition, using the money to set up a barbers shop. Her second winner, Elizabeth John Kalu from Anambra, started up a confectionary kiosk with her winning. Another winner, pastor Paul Udu, got cash to start up a farm in his village in Enugu State


In 2015, The #GiveBackProject spent over half a million naira distributing school bags, shoes and books to impoverished and poorly funded nursery and primary schools in Abakpa Nike, Enugu, Nigeria


In 2016, The #GiveBackProject donated food items and cash to the old peoples’ home in Enugu

 

Acting

In 2015, she starred as a gynecologist in the critically acclaimed and award winning Igbo movie titled “B is For Boy”. The movie which premiered in the US/Canada aimed to portray how far women in Igbo land would go to have a male child.

With a huge social media following on instagram, twitter and facebook, FabulosGloria has become a brand favorite for promotions. Being in the media as well as a host/compere/public speaker, this has made her very visible/popular hence people are quick to adopt brands she is affiliated with. From clothes to hair, tech and so on, many believe her word when she promotes a brand.

FabulosGloria is married and a mother to two beautiful children: Somkenechukwu Emodi #SomkayDaLittleDiva (March 2012) and Genesis Obinna Emodi #BabyGenesis (Oct 2016), She is an avid reader and enjoys gaining knowledge on several issues.
